After a stay in Sarajevo, where I led a workshop right after the war had ended, I asked the students to bring obituaries of relatives or acquaintances that had appeared in the press. In that country, it is customary to publish obituaries with a little photo of the deceased. Based on these low-quality images, I created a small-dimension painting for each of them, “in memoriam”.
